Project Description: The works included collaboration with George Law Civils team to repair and install a new soakaways to various locations on Cycle Route 45 owned by Severn Valley Railway. Water was percolating out of the verge and across the pathway and to ensure the cycle path stopped flooding and water was directed back towards the river seven and not back onto the Railway embankment causing standing water problems on the track.

Scope of Works and delivery relevant to contract

Surfacing and joint sealing to cycleway, including cleaning out of joints, waste disposal and final sweep.

  • Initial excavation works
  • 600mm x 600mm x 600mm (subject to accessibility and routes of existing trees – which were not to be damaged) with a 4 inch perforated soakaway toward the river.
  • Installation of soakaway – George Law
  • Lifting surface are 140mm at the back edge (nearest railway track)

Raise 100mm on the front edge (nearest river) achieving a cross fall approx. 2.5%
