Project Description: The development, which was completed under a local development order facilitated by Wyre Forest District Council, includes new production areas for the efficient manufacturing of the company’s machine protection equipment, new offices, and refurbishment of existing, an engineering development laboratory and employee welfare facilities.
With new door and window openings, new roof coverings, new and extended drainage and repairs to the ground floor slab.
The building also incorporated a catering kitchen along with welfare facilities.
Mechanical and electrical services and layouts were completely upgraded. Internally walls and ceilings were re-plastered and new floor and wall finishes applied.
Externally the façade was Kingspan cladding to walls and roof, aluminium windows, doors and curtain walling. New steps, ramps and paving were laid for DDA access and outside main entrance.
All works were delivered within a live environment, with access to the site via the main entrance on a busy industrial estate. Close liaison with the factory production manager was necessary to ensure our works did not impact on the day to day operations of the Client. Accessed via an estate road, shared with multiple other businesses, our project team kept them informed by letter, newsletter and face to face dialogue. With segregation by fences and barriers and an onsite speed limit of 5mph. All deliveries were accompanied by a banksman and were pre-programmed and scheduled to avoid the busy periods of the day.
With restoration of other areas of the office/Factory being undertaken at the same time, the Interclass team liaised regularly with the Client’s representatives, to align programmes of work to suit public access and safety. We also worked with the end users to understand their ongoing activities and, where possible, give them priority.
Interclass provided monthly progress reports to the Client team, to advise them on progress and programme intent and to update on expenditure to date and the anticipated Final Account position.
